I believe that retention starts on day one with a clear onboarding process. Employees need to see a path for their future. By offering continuous learning opportunities similar to the path I took by pursuing a Harvard Business School certificate after my initial degrees organizations show that they are invested in the person, not just the position. Retention is a two-way street of investment. When an organization invests in the ethical development and education of its staff, the staff remains committed to the organization’s mission.
