AI and Ethics in the Canadian Workplace | Nelson Ugonna Onwuliri

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept; it is a daily tool in Human Resources. However, the 2026 challenge is ensuring that AI is used ethically. As Nelson Ugonna Onwuliri, I advocate for "Human-in-the-Loop" AI systems where technology assists in data processing, but humans make the final moral and professional judgments.

In recruitment and benefits management, AI can inadvertently repeat human biases if not monitored. Drawing on my Harvard governance training, I believe organizations must implement "AI Audits." We must ensure that our digital tools are transparent and that they protect the privacy and dignity of every employee. Technology should be a tool for empowerment, not a shortcut that bypasses ethical oversight.
